“The Daily Show” has canceled its plans to cover the Republican National Convention on location in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, next week.

The morning after presumptive nominee Donald Trump was injured by gunfire at a Pennsylvania campaign rally, the long-running Comedy Central news satire show announced that it was dropping its on-the-ground “Indecision 2024” coverage in light of “logistical issues and the evolving situation in Milwaukee.”

The statement said the show’s Milwaukee tapings will be rescheduled “in the coming weeks.” The show will air episodes recorded in New York City starting Tuesday, skipping the Monday edition typically hosted by Jon Stewart.

Stewart is still scheduled to host Thursday night’s episode, which coincides with the closing night of the RNC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

HuffPost has reached out to representatives for Comedy Central for further details.

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday afternoon, Trump announced he would be headed to Milwaukee as planned that evening.

“Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days,” he wrote, “but have just decided that I cannot allow a ‘shooter,’ or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else.”

Early Sunday evening, the Associated Press reported that the Secret Service said it is “confident in the security plans” for the RNC and will not be making changes to its existing security strategy.
