Memorial Golf Tournament Happening Sunday in Perry
A traditional golf tournament will be happening on Sunday in the City of Perry. The 11th Annual Memorial Golf Tournament is taking place at the Perry Golf & Country Club on Sunday, with a tee time of 7:30am. According to the country club, golfers are free to tee off anytime after 7:30am and the event is open to anyone interested. The tournament features the Championship Flight that will play 27 holes, with the Senior Division, Super Senior Division, and all other flights to play 18 holes.

Jayettes Take Tough Loss on Senior Night
The Toreadores would look to play spoiler for a Jayette team needing some confidence the night before a long break for Independence Day. Boone started off hot with leadoff hitter Sydney Adams lasered a base hit into left field, stole a base, and then scored on an RBI single from Erin Ades.
Clarke Sends Perry Home With Loss
The Bluejays fell last night in Osceola to Clarke. The Indians picked up the 10-2 win. Clarke jumped all over Perry pitching as they scored in every inning. The Bluejays offense would score their first run of the game in the fourth. The Indians had already pulled ahead, 5-0, when that happened. Clarke grabbed their first win over the Bluejays. Perry had won the previous 7 match ups. This is the third straight loss and the Bluejays have given up over 10 runs in all of them.
ADM Baseball In-Season Statistics
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team is continuing to grow throughout the season as a few more games remain until postseason. The Tigers are currently sitting at 14-13 overall (9-7 inside the Raccoon River Conference) and have two more regular season games remaining before the playoffs. Through 27 games, Senior Grant Rychnovsky leads ADM with 26 hits, 21 runs scored, and 20 RBI’s. Junior Grant Jansen is second with 23 hits, and Junior Reed Ausdemore is third. Senior Rhylan Stine-Smith is second on the team with 15 runs scored, and Junior Jaxson Book has 12. Jansen has 15 RBI’s on the year, which is second to Rychnovsky, and Stine-Smith sits in third with nine.
Hawks fall to Dallas Center-Grimes in potential preview of 4A substate final
The Ankeny baseball team dropped a 4-3 decision at second-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes in a non-conference game on Wednesday. The Hawks took a 3-1 lead in the second inning before Dallas Center-Grimes scored one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to earn its fifth straight victory. The Mustangs improved to 32-2 on the season, while Ankeny’s record dropped to 17-22.
One Week Away from Football Camp in Perry
Perry will be holding a special football camp on Saturday, July 13th. Iowa St QB, Rocco Becht is hosting a free camp for those in the Perry district. The event is scheduled from 9A-12P and will include a free lunch. The camp is open to 5th-8th graders. The quarterback is funding the project with his NIL he has earned. Other members of the Cyclone football team are scheduled to attend. Rocco has never been in Perry, but is looking forward to giving back. “They should expect the once in a lifetime experience. I mean you’ve got guys on this Iowa State football team coming out to support you guys, coming out to support the kids, coming out to have a good time you know. We’re trying to make relationships you know. I’m trying to go out there and you know meet some new kids you know put a smile on their face”

Baseball (26-5) The season’s second meeting with Des Moines Christian (27-2) proved even more intriguing than a typical matchup with the Lions. After previously winning by one run on DMC’s field this year, the Bulldogs hosted the Lions on Saturday in a game that came down the final inning. With the score knotted at 1-1 after DMC immediately responded to Cole Moore’s run in the third inning, it was the Lions that scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning for a 2-1 win to tie the season series, virtually ending the season in a deadheat in the WCAC.

ADM Softball Hosts Ankeny Centennial Tonight
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team will be in Adel tonight for a non-conference game against Ankeny Centennial. The Tigers are playing with a ton of confidence at the moment as they’ve won their last nine games, preparing for postseason, which is one week out. ADM last played on Monday where they defeated Gilbert 9-5 to improve to 25-8 overall (13-2 inside Raccoon River Conference). The Jaguars is coming off a win against Fort Dodge 6-2 as they are also 25-8 on the season, atop of the Central Iowa Metropolitan League Conference.
Perry baseball, softball sweep Greene County
Baseball (9-15) In between a pair of losses, the Bluejays earned a sweep against Greene County (1-16) this season after defending Perry’s home diamond with a 1-0 win. Putting most at-bats into play, the Bluejays struck out a season-low one time, providing a chance at bases in almost every appearance. That led to five singles from five batters, but it was Gabriel Beato-Amparo who was the first and only player from both dugouts to cross home plate — earning the go-ahead run in the fifth inning.
Panther Baseball Celebrate Senior Night With a Victory
The Panorama Panther baseball team knocked off the Southwest Valley Timberwolves 8-1, giving the seniors a moment to celebrate. The now 10-15 Panthers honored seniors Roman Keefe, Issac Currin, Zach TenEyck, Brayden Maeder, Ethan Bruce and Slate Goodvin then immediately were ready for battle, as Panorama would score four runs in the bottom of the first to take a 4-1 lead. The Panthers would hold the Timberwolves to only one run, while notching in three more runs in the third and one more in the sixth to secure a 8-1 victory over Southwest Valley. Panorama would achieve six hits and one lone RBI with two Panthers being hit by pitches while up to bat.
ADM Baseball Shuts Out North Polk for Huge RRC Win
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball team garnered their 14th win, with a big conference victory versus North Polk on Wednesday. The Tigers were shutout by the Comets in their previous two matchups, but defeated North Polk 7-0 last night in Adel. ADM scored one run in the first inning, two in the second, two in the third, and two in the fourth as they held the Comets scoreless for only the second time this season. Rhylan Stine-Smith finished 1-3 with a two-run RBI Triple, with Grant Rychnovsky going 1-3 with an RBI Double.
DCG Teams Play At Home Tonight
Dallas Center – Grimes baseball and softball will be back at home tonight with intriguing non conference games for both schools, with the boys to play against Ankeny and the girls to take on Carlisle. DCG girls are 29-5 while Carlisle is 26-8 on the season. The softball program is number 2 in 4A as of the late June poll. The boys are 31-2 on the season and are currently in the top 3 of the 4A poll. DCG girls.

Six seniors are honored tonight as the (9-15) Panorama Panther baseball team host the Southeast Valley Timberwolves in their final game of the season. After drying and preparing the field the Panthers hope to keep the rain storms from affecting the senior night festivities as Seniors Roman Keefe, Issac Currin, Zach TenEyck, Brayden Maeder, Ethan Bruce, and Slate Goodvin prepare for their final game of their regular season careers as Panthers.
Hawks softball wins six straight, baseball surges with Worley
Baseball (10-14) With the only thing left on the schedule being the start of regional action on Saturday, Woodward-Granger picked up two more wins to build some momentum. Dating back to June 17, the Hawks went 5-1 for their best stretch of the season after picking up wins against Madrid (11-14) and ACGC (1-20) on June 25 and 26. That stretch was ended with an untimely meeting with juggernaut Des Moines Christian (ranked No. 2 in the class and riding a 19-game win streak) on June 27.

Berkley McClish of Johnston and Owen Siegert of West Marshall are the Des Moines Register Iowa Ortho female and male Athlete of the Week winners for the week of June 24-30. McClish was on point in the circle for the 5A No. 5 Johnston softball team during a 10-0 victory over No. 5 Waukee as part of a doubleheader sweep by the Dragons on June 26 at Johnston. McClish held Waukee to five hits, and she struck out eight batters with no walks in six innings to earn the quality win.
Norwalk Softball swept by Waukee Northwest; Warrior Baseball loses 1-0 to Roosevelt
The Norwalk softball team was swept in a doubleheader by Waukee Northwest on Wednesday night while the Warrior baseball squad lost 1-0 to Des Moines Roosevelt. Both softball games were tightly-contested until the late innings. The Class 5A fifth-ranked Wolves won the first game 5-0, scoring two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh. Game two was tied 2-2 in the first inning and stayed that way until Waukee Northwest plated five runs in the eighth to win 7-2 – heard live on 94.3 KNIA and the KNIA3 stream.
