Nishna Valley Family YMCA hosts Atlantic Chamber Ambassadors
The Atlantic Chamber Ambassadors were hosted by Nishna Valley Family YMCA on Friday, August 30th, 2024, for an Open House featuring new equipment and pool improvements. Dan Haynes, Executive Director, shared the YMCA pool recently underwent over $700,000 worth of updates, including repainting the pool, installing a new pump, motor, valves, and sanitization system. Dan shared that the construction took longer than expected, but the pool is back up and running, and they are celebrating with an Open House.

(Dunlap) -- Boyer Valley cross country brings a full roster for both their girls and their boys heading into the 2024 season. “This group of kids is a hard-working group of kids,” Bulldogs head coach Kent Hall told KMA Sports. “We’ve been running north of Dow City, and a lot of the kids have been working real hard about 6 in the morning, out running hills in the dirt roads. Fatal Accident in Clarke County
(Clarke Co) A Des Moines man died following a motorcycle accident in Clarke County. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 12:58 p.m. today (Friday) on I-35. Witnesses stated that 38-year-old James Paul Qualls, driving a 2014 Harley Davidson northbound, passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed. He then took Exit 33 and drove off the roadway. Qualls lost control and the motorcycle overturned, striking a sign post. Qualls was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle rolled down the embankment and came to rest in the ditch.
