Dodgeville Man Arrested For 2nd OWI Following Crash
The Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle rollover crash on Highway 18 near Sunny Slope Road in the Township of Linden Sunday around 10:45pm. The Cobb Fire Department, Cobb First Responders, Dodgeville EMS, and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene. As a result of the crash, 26 year old Logan Koestred of Dodgeville was charged with Failure to Keep His Vehicle Under Control, Operating While Revoked, and 2nd Offense of Operating While under the Influence. Haase’s assisted in the removal of the vehicle.
Platteville Man Arrested For 9th OWI
A traffic complaint has resulted in a Platteville Man being arrested for his 9th Offense Drunk Driving. Authorities were notified about 10-30 pm Saturday Night of a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner and stopping in the lane of traffic. 71 year old Eldon Holt was located on Southwest Road and a traffic stop was made on Classic Lane. Holt admitted to drinking prior to the traffic stop. The Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy learned Holt had eight prior convictions for drunk driving and had a 0.2 restriction on his license, which had been revoked. He also failed to install an Ignition interlock device. The Platteville Police Department assisted at the scene.
Reckless driver crashes into Mississippi River
On July 16, 2024, at approximately 7:30 pm, a Grant County Deputy was on patrol on Eagle Point Rd when he was flagged down by a male on the side of the road. The male informed the deputy that he was near his vehicle with his dog when he observed a vehicle traveling west into O’Leary’s Lake at a very high rate of speed. The male was afraid the vehicle was going to crash into him or his dog. The driver then lost control, rolled the vehicle, and it entered the river.
