Highway Patrol identifies victims of local plane crash
FOWLER, Ohio (WKBN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victims of a fatal plane crash near the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport on Friday. The pilot was identified as Jawdat Khawam, 54, of Laval, Quebec. The two passengers were identified as Martine Arseneault, 45, of Laval, Quebec; and Daphne Khawam, 8, of Laval, Quebec, according to a news release from the Highway Patrol.
Experienced officer joins Warren Police Department
WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Warren Police Department has added another experienced officer to its force. Patrolman Kenneth Romo took the oath of office Monday. Romo comes to the department with five years of law enforcement experience. He previously worked for sheriff’s offices in Portage, Ashtabula, and Trumbull Counties and started his law enforcement career at the Hubbard Township Police Department.
No charges filed against Youngstown police officer in fatal shooting of suspect

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man is facing several charges after he was reportedly involved in a struggle with a Warren police officer and bitten by the officer’s K-9. Police said the suspect, Rodger Raub, 36, was spotted walking in front of Walgreens on W. Market Street on Saturday afternoon. According to a police report, Raub matched the description of an “unwanted subject” who had been at another local business in the area.
