    MINERVA CONCERT – New Song, Geneva College’s music and drama ministry group, will offer a free performance at 7 p.m. July 5 on Minerva’s Municipal Park Stage. Nine students are chosen in January for the group that begins their service in the summer following. Students are chosen because of their musical and dramatic abilities and because of the way they can articulate and convey their faith. New Song is directed by Lindsay Shaffer, Minerva High School and Geneva College alumna. Municipal Park’s parking is adjacent to the Minerva High School parking lot.

    CARVING EXHIBIT – A wood carving exhibit will be on display at the McCook House Museum, 15 W. Lisbon St. on the square in Carrollton. Fee is $3 for adults, and $2 for children. The exhibit is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 10. Among items in the collection are reliefs, caricatures, plaques, birds and toys.

    ALLIANCE ZONING – Alliance Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 4:30 p.m. July 16 in the second-floor conference room of the City Administration Building, 504 W. Main St. Among items on the agenda are a request from Mathew Christy for 1466 S. Linden Ave., for a variance for a duplex in an R-1; and requests from Chick-fil-A, 2425 W. State St., for two additional wall signs and a menu board facing the right-of-way.

    CAR CRUISE – Copeland Oaks retirement community will play host to a Cruise Around the Lake starting at 11 a.m. July 28. The event will run 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the facility at 800 S. 15th St. in Sebring. All makes and models are welcome to take part, and dash plaques will go to the first 300 registered vehicles. Free hot dogs, chips and water will be served beginning at 1 p.m. Music will be provided by DJ Thomas John. Also part of the entertainment is a 50/50 raffle and a raffle basket drawing.

    RIDERS BENEFIT – American Legion Riders Sebring Post 76, 395 California Ave. in Sebring, will play host to a breakfast buffet benefit from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on July 7. Meals will cost $10 for adults, and $3 for children ages 5 and younger. Proceeds from the event will go to Grandview Cemetery veterans memorial in Sebring, to fund future flag purchases.
