Construction is a wrap on North Loop Green, a mixed-use development that brings hundreds of new housing units along with offices and green space to downtown Minneapolis.

Kraus-Anderson, the project’s construction manager at risk, said Tuesday that it has completed the 1 million-square-foot development on a site overlooking Target Field, the Minneapolis skyline and the Mississippi River. Construction started in November 2021.

Anchoring the development is a 34-story, 449-unit residential tower at 350 N. Fifth St. Amenities include outdoor terraces with “spectacular skyline views, a state-of-the-art fitness center and health club, pool and sauna, golf and gaming simulator, work-from-home lounges, dog lounge with washing stations and dog run, and a one-acre park that will be activated year-round known as The Green,” Kraus-Anderson said in a press release.

Also included are a 14-story, 365,000-square-foot office building and a 471-stall, 225,439-square-foot parking garage with EV car-charging stations. The office tower is “designed to provide an inspiring working atmosphere, prioritizing wellness programs and employee engagement, and providing unique amenities and gathering spaces,” Kraus-Anderson said.

North Loop Green’s “food and retail offerings include a Hope Breakfast Bar and a new Italian concept called Salt & Flour, run by Chef Brian Ingram’s Purpose Restaurants, as well as a caf called the Bassett Hound and food trucks on The Green,” according to the release.

As construction manager at risk, Kraus-Anderson “participated in an extensive 12-month preconstruction period, working with the design team and the city of Minneapolis on permitting, constructability and sustainability planning,” the company said.

Hines developed the project, and ESG Architects had design duties. The project is a candidate for LEED Silver certification.
