    Serious injury?

    Be serious, says Carlos Correa.

The Twins' shortstop left Thursday's 13-6 win at Arizona after getting hit in the right forearm with a pitch leading off the seventh inning.

Correa winced, lifted his arm in the air and bent it over his head, then repeatedly shook his head while walking to the dugout and then straight into the clubhouse.

“You think the worst right away, then when you get the good news you’ve very happy,” Correa said, noting that his hand went numb after the pitch by Bryce Jarvis.

X-rays were negative and the team listed him as day-to-day.

“I’m ready to play tomorrow,” Correa said. "Yes, I’ll be in the lineup tomorrow.”

It was the second batter hit by Jarvis on Thursday, while the Twins' Cody Funderburk hit a Diamondbacks batter in the ninth inning.

The Twins reached the 81-game mark on Thursday, exactly halfway through their 162-game regular season schedule.

The Twins were 40-41 last season before finishing 87-75 and winning the AL Central. This season, Minnesota began 7-13 before heating up and is now 45-36, trailing Cleveland by eight games.

Twins righthander Bailey Ober (7-4, 4.50) starts the opener of a three-game series in Seattle on Friday. Righty Logan Gilbert (5-4, 2.71) is the Mariners’ scheduled starter.

The Twins took three of four from the Mariners at Target Field in May.

During that series, former Twins All-Star Jorge Polanco had two hits in 18 at-bats in his first action against the only team he had played for before he was traded in January.

Polanco is batting .192 with five home runs and 14 RBI, and recently came off the injured list with a hamstring injury that sidelined him for a month.

None of the four players the Twins acquired in that deal have played in the majors this season.
