The Minnesota Vikings are in a very interesting spot in the 2024 season with Sam Darnold as their starting quarterback. It's not a full rebuild season for the Minnesota Vikings but the addition of Darnold sends mixed signals.

The Vikings believe in Darnold this season and he's been impressive to both the team and analysts who cover the team. It's never been a question about his talent but if he could use it well enough on the field.

One former NFL quarterback believes that Darnold will perform this season, including being better than the first overall pick in Caleb Williams.

That would be a great outcome for the Vikings. Now, passing yards aren't a tell all for quarterback performance. Even poor quarterbacks can put up good numbers. Nick Mullens threw for 390+ yards twice last season.

Williams isn't a guarantee either. He will be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears going into the 2024 season, but his offensive line is poor in front of him which could cause issues.

The Vikings will be in a good place if Darnold ends up playing that well.
