While Indiana Fever got off to painfully slow start against the Minnesota Lynx on July 14, things started to click in the fourth quarter. Fever rookie Caitlin Clark picked up the pace and her threes finally started to fall.

With approximately 6:45 minutes left in regulation, and the scored tied 65-65, Lynx forward Bridget Carleton had the unfortunate job of trying defend Clark.

However, the 22-year-old rookie got the best of Carleton, breaking her ankles on her way to a successful layup, which put the Fever on top. Fans on social media strongly reacted to the epic play.

One viewer posted , "OH, CAITLIN CLARK, THE ROTY THAT YOU ARE." A fan account wrote, "CAITLIN CLARK JUST PUT HER DEFENDER ON SKATES." One man posted , "Caitlin Clark taking ankles and breaking knees."

The Fever ultimately defeated the Lynx 81-74. Clark finished with 17 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists. Fever forward Aliyah Boston put up 17 points with a career-high 16 rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in scoring with 21 points.

Indiana (11-14) has one more game before the Olympic break, a road matchup against the Dallas Wings on July 17.
