Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever pulled off a huge win on Sunday as they defeated the Minnesota Lynx in a hard-fought encounter, 81-74. As expected, the first overall pick in the 2024 draft was the star of the show with another impressive performance, much to the delight of the Lynx home crowd.

Unsurprisingly, the Clark craze was in full effect as the Minneapolis Target Center on Sunday was sold out, with 18,978 fans witnessing the matchup.

After the game, the former Iowa superstar sent a special message to the crowd for the outpouring of love.

"There were a lot of Fever fans." Clark said after the game, via Chloe Peterson of the Indianapolis Star. "They were cheering, going crazy. A lot of people that probably supported me when I was here playing with Iowa, but it's a great venue, the Target Center is awesome.

The 22-year-old Fever guard recalls her time in college where she saw people lining up by midnight just to watch the game the next day. Nonetheless, Clark felt that the city certainly loved to watch women's basketball.

"The city spports women's basketball, obviously the history here and what the Lynx have been able to do. But yeah, I mean, I guess there's a little magic in here . Who knows? Knock on wood, because we do come back," Clark said.

Clark could not help but get a little bit sentimental in her statement as she reflected on her iconic stint with the Hawkeyes. The Fever superstar has now moved on in her career, but it is clear that she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of the Iowa faithful.
