Minnesota Vikings star receiver Jordan Addison has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Friday evening - just days after his teammate was killed in a crash in which alcohol had been involved .
The California Highway Patrol had responded to reports of a vehicle blocking lanes on an interstate just after 11 p.m. local time near LA International Airport, with officers arriving at the scene to find a white Rolls-Royce blocking lanes with the driver being asleep at the wheel - believed to be Addison - who was arrested and released around two hours later.
A report from police reads: "After a DUI investigation was completed, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence."

In a statement, the Vikings have said: "We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident."
Addison's DUI arrest comes just days after Khyree Jackson was tragically killed after being hit by a driver who is said to have been under the influence. Jackson had been the passenger in a vehicle that was struck at high speeds, tragically killing all three in the car he'd been in. The driver of the vehicle said to have caused the crash, was unharmed.
It remains to be seen how significantly the Vikings or the NFL will punish Addison, who is likely to have extremely angered many within the organization.

Unfortunately, this is not the first traffic incident that Addison has had since joining the Vikings as a first-round pick last year, when he was said to have been traveling at speeds of 140mph on the freeway in the early hours.
Addison was charged with speeding and reckless driving, stating that he had been driving at the speed due to his 'dog having an emergency'. The wide receiver later posted a public apology stating that he "made a mistake and used poor judgment" before promising to "not to repeat the behavior".
The receiver will have been set to play an important role for the team this season, alongside superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson with the Vikings undergoing a quarterback change with Kirk Cousins departing . Minnesota spent a first-round draft pick on national championship winner JJ McCarthy, with him expected to compete for the starting job with former third-overall pick Sam Darnold.
