One dead, two injured in Northeast Minneapolis shooting

A man was killed and two others were injured in a Northeast Minneapolis shooting Sunday night.

Minneapolis police say the shooting was reported on the 2500 block of Central Avenue Northeast at 9:45 p.m., with two women arrested in connection with the incident.

Police Chief Brian O’Hara said officers responding to the scene arrived to find a man on the ground with gunshot wounds.

Officers provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The man was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died.

Two others were injured from the shooting, a man and woman found in a vehicle at 4th Street Southwest and Central Avenue. They were hospitalized, but their wounds appeared to be non-life threatening.

At this time, police believe an "altercation" between several people who knew each other is what led to the shooting.

The two arrested women have been booked into Hennepin County Jail.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.
