Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and NBA legend LeBron James have made headlines with a major announcement.

James is set to star alongside Edwards in a new Netflix docuseries, with Edwards taking the lead role. The series, which will be similar to Netflix’s NFL “Quarterback” series, will also feature recent NBA Finals champion Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler and Domantas Sabonis.

Shams Charania revealed on Jan. 10 that Netflix was creating the series. However, it was not initially known that Edwards would be the focal point.

“Edwards is expected to be the breakaway act of Netflix’s first NBA documentary series that includes LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler and Domantas Sabonis. The show is modeled after Netflix’s NFL “Quarterback” series," said Charania.

James' SpringHill Company, Barack Obama's Higher Ground Productions and Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions have teamed up to produce the series, which has already begun filming and is set to debut this fall.

Edwards has improved every year since being drafted by the Timberwolves with the first pick in 2020.

He averaged nearly 26 points per game last season, along with 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists, leading the Timberwolves to a 56-25 record and a Western Conference finals appearance.

Edwards has continued to thrive and emerge as a young face of the league, making him a compelling focal point of the show alongside an icon such as James.
