Teenage girl dies in the hospital days after being found shot in Minneapolis

A 17-year-old girl has died from her injuries days after being found shot in north Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has confirmed that Lonnaya I'zanay Warren-Loyd died from multiple gunshot wounds on Friday, July 12, six days after she was shot while in a vehicle alongside a man, who was also injured.

FOX 9 reports the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. at Dowling Avenue North and Fremont Avenue North. Loyd was taken to the North Memorial Health Hospital for treatment.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide. No arrests have been made yet in connection to the shooting.
