Were learning no was one was hurt after an Xcel Energy truck crashed through an art business storefront in Northeast Minneapolis this afternoon.

Supply Studio owner Jeffrey Siegel says he was in the building when the work truck smashed though the front side of the building. It happened around noon where owner Siegel was just on his way out to lunch when the work truck smashed through the wall just feet from where he stood. Siegel says he spoke with the driver.

"He was dazed but he was ok. That's the good news, he wasn't hurt," said Siegel.

Co-owner Jerri Summerville says the driver told police he over-corrected and accidentally crashed.

"He has that giant truck and he had to, he was overcompensating, apparently, according to him for the cones, the barriers and he hit that concrete structure with the light on it," Summerville says. "And that knocked him into the building."

Police and Xcel Energy are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash. Summerville says what comes next is a lot of clean up.

"Yeah, he's ok," Summerville told WCCO Radio. "And now it's just a matter of figuring out if the building is going to be ok. The beams are continuing to fall, but we're going to try to get something like an I-beam or shore it up somehow. And then hopefully we can restore it."

The crash happened within a stretch of Hennepin Avenue that has recently been reduced to a single lane.
