A shooting in downtown Minneapolis left four people injured and caused bullet damage to multiple buildings.

Police were called at around 11:10 p.m. to Nicollet Mall between 5th and 7th streets by 911 callers who reported a fight involving a man hitting a woman shortly before shots were fired.

Officers who were in the area responded to the scene and found gun casings and broken windows on the two-block stretch of the street.

A Hennepin County deputy stationed between Hennepin Avenue and Nicollet Mall was later approached by a man saying he was shot. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

A woman and a girl also flagged down officers, one with apparent non-life-threatening graze wounds and the girl with apparent cuts from glass.

Two hours later, a woman walked into HCMC with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

MPD is investigating to determine what led to the shooting.
