Earlier this month, promising NFL rookie Khyree Jackson died in an automobile accident in Temple Hills, Maryland.

Now, the team that drafted him, the Minnesota Vikings, is making an incredible gesture to Jackson and his family after their loss.

The Vikings will be paying out the remainder of Jackson's $827,000 signing bonus from his rookie deal to his estate, according to Ari Meirov. They'll also be covering a "significant portion" of the funeral expenses and will honor him with decals on their helmets this season. No player will be allowed to wear Jackson's No. 31 this year either.

The accident also took the lives of Jackson's friends and high school teammates, AJ Lytton and Isaiah Hazel, who both previously played college football for FBS teams.

Jackson was drafted by the Vikings at No. 108 overall in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of the University of Oregon. Before that, he played two seasons at the University of Alabama.

Jackson was just 24 years old.
