The Minnesota Vikings traded for TJ Hockensen in November 2022, a move that has paid big dividends.

The Vikings' inconsistency at the quarterback position did not preclude Hockensen from amassing 95 catches for 960 yards last season including five touchdowns.

On Monday, the Vikings announced that Hockensen was placed on the Physically Unable To Perform (PUP) list.

According to Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell, Hockensen will open camp on the list as he continues to recover from a torn ACL injury he suffered on December 24 of last season against his former team, the Detroit Lions.

"I think (Vikings Vice President of Player Health and Performance) Tyler (Williams) and his staff feel really good about where he's at," O'Connell added , noting the significant and long-term nature of Hockensen's injury.

"Hopefully at some point when he's ready to go, we want to make sure everything is done the right way for TJ because he is such a significant part of our organization moving forward."
