It is no secret that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards grew up idolizing future Basketball Hall of Famer Kevin Durant.
One can only imagine the kick Edwards is getting out of playing in Paris with Durant as Team USA looks to secure another gold medal in the Olympics.
But can those two become Timberwolves teammates one day?
Fans online have begun speculating the possibility of the former NBA Most Valuable Player taking his talents to the Twin Cities after seeing Edwards and Durant execute a handshake on the sidelines during a Team USA game.
“Hmmm a Kat for Kd trade would be decent. Make Devin booker happy reuniting him with Kat,..and Kd gets a good team in Edwards.”

Durant, however, will not be a free agent until the end of the 2025-26 NBA season, so until then, the only realistic way to Minnesota for the Slim Reaper is via a trade. That is unlikely to happen, with the Suns looking to run it back with the same core of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.
In any case, the focus right now for Durant and Edwards is on Team USA’s task in Paris. The Americans finished group play with a 3-0 record and will face Brazil in the quarterfinal round this Tuesday.
