Injuries have plagued the Minnesota Vikings so far this year, especially in the secondary. The Vikings have lost two cornerbacks for the season and have had multiple injuries already during training camp.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon and gave positive updates on multiple injured Vikings.

    Lewis Cine could play Saturday

"So Lewis. So, you know, he picked up a little bit of his workload today, you know, walk through, and then he'll, he'll be eased back in to individual, and then hope to get him some work throughout the rest of the week and see him play on Saturday."

Cine has been out for just over a week due to a lower leg strain. Things haven't gone well for Cine during his career after being a first-round pick of the Vikings in 2022. He suffered a compound fracture of his leg in week four of his rookie year and then struggled to come back, playing just 10 snaps on defense in his first two seasons.

Cine missing training camp practices with his future on the line has been brutal for him and his chances to make the roster. The Vikings brought in Bobby McCain at safety to not just have a body on the field but to push Cine for a potential roster spot.

Jerry Tillery is expected to be okay

"So he did get a pretty significant laceration, kind of, on the back of his leg, there lower calf area that, although very concerning, he is going to be, you know, fully recovered. He did have to get a couple stitches on that. But as far as the major injuries that maybe our fans are, or you folks worried about, that is not the case, he'll be back. Just got to let those you know, stitches heal and he'll be ready to roll. So Jerry is going to be just fine."

Tillery was carted off the field on Saturday during training camp practice with an undisclosed injury. Initially, it was thought to be an ankle injury but it ended up being a laceration.

The news that Tillery is going to be just fine once the wound heals is huge for the Vikings, as he isn't expected to miss significant time.
