    Minnesota boasts many scenic escapes, from cabins in the wooded forests to boardwalks along the lakes. Another hidden treasure is our state’s remarkable flower fields. To explore Minnesota’s floral paradise, pick a few locations from our comprehensive list of flower fields across the state and immerse yourself in a colorful array of sunflowers, lavender, and wildflowers.

    Sunflower Fields

    Sunflowers are typically in season from mid-July to early September in Minnesota. Whether you hope to find a scenic backdrop for photos or yearn to escape into a sea of bright-yellow petals, visiting a sunflower field is the perfect excursion.

    Afton Apple

    Afton Apple is home to a plethora of berries and flowers, and its encompassing sunflower field is a highlight. In mid-to-late August, Afton Apple hosts a flower festival, inviting guests to make bouquets and cut their own sunflowers and zinnias.

    Treasured Haven Farm

    Visit this organic family farm in Rush City on its annual Sunflower Days for a joyful scenic escape. In addition to strolling through its sunflower fields, guests are welcome to hike through farm trails, have a picnic, and explore the gift shop!

    Green Barn Garden Center

    This farm in Isanti has grown sunflowers for over 25 years and often provides food trucks on-site. They also grow hydrangeas and a range of produce, including sweet corn, tomatoes, watermelon, and cucumbers.

    Lavender and Wildflower Fields

    Lavender and wildflowers can vary in harvesting time but are usually in full bloom throughout the summer months. Take advantage of the sunny days and bask in the relaxing aroma of lavender or observe a variety of wildflowers.

    Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary

    While not a traditional field, Minneapolis’ Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary is home to a lovely array of wildflowers and a botanic garden, taking visitors through a kaleidoscope of blooming colors.

    Bonus: Lavender Bluff Farms

    Lavender Bluff Farms is located in Stockholm, Wisconsin, and invites guests from everywhere to enjoy its fields of blooming lavender and wildflowers.
