    U.S. Bank Is Closing These 40 Branches in 2024

    American banks have been closing underperforming branches in recent months, and U.S. Bank is no exception.

    The bank announced the closing of 23 branches this year, in addition to branch closings by Wells Fargo, Capital One, and Bank of America, among others.

    1. Arkansas

    • 115 Highway 64 West, Alma

    Alma residents may not have to worry too much as the bank has another branch in nearby Van Buren, around seven miles away.

    2. California

    • 5225 Canyon Crest Drive, Riverside
    • 8949 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., San Diego
    • 7404 Jackson Drive, San Diego

    The closure of three U.S. Bank branches in California shouldn't have too much of an impact on the state residents, who will still have 20 other full-service locations to choose from.

    3. Washington D.C.

    • 700 13th Street, N.W.

    U.S. Bank will close its only branch in the D.C. area, leaving its customers with only ATM services throughout the city.

    4. Idaho

    • 101 South Capitol Boulevard, Boise

    Fortunately, the closure of the South Capitol Boulevard branch will still leave Boise residents with 37 other branches where they can do their banking.

    5. Illinois

    • 400 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon
    • 2639 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago

    O'Fallon still has a U.S. Bank ATM in the city and another nearby, as well as several branches that haven't closed and are within driving distance. Chicago also has nearly 170 remaining branches.

    6. Iowa

    • 323 Reed Street, Red Oak
    • 102 E 5th Street, Tipton

    Both Red Oak and Tipton will lose their only U.S. Bank branches. However, 36 branches will still remain throughout the state.

    7. Kentucky

    • 127 Broadway, Irvine
    • Russell Street and Patty Loveless Drive, Elkhorn City

    These closings are just the latest of several in the state, with U.S. Bank shuttering other locations throughout Kentucky in recent years.

    8. Minnesota

    • 3300 Highway 10 East, Moorhead
    • 236 East Main Street, Blooming Prairie

    U.S. Bank announced it was closing two branches in Minnesota. The banking company is based in Minneapolis, also home of U.S. Bank Stadium and the Minnesota Vikings football team.

    9. Missouri

    • Corner Of Spring & Polk, Hermitage
    • 300 South Center, Shelbina
    • 8750 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City
    • 759 West Jackson, Marshfield

    The four branch closings in 2024 come after Missouri had four U.S. Bank branches shut down a year earlier.

    10. Montana

    • 4 Adams Avenue East, Chester
    • 201 Main Street, Shelby

    According to local news reports, the branch in Shelby is expected to close in May. After the closures in Chester and Shelby, the state will have 19 U.S. Bank branches.

    11. Nebraska

    • 202 North Sixth Street, Beatrice

    This is the only branch closing so far in Nebraska this time around, but the state took a hit in 2020 when U.S. Bank closed a dozen locations that year.

    12. Nevada

    • 901 S Rancho Dr, Ste 1, Las Vegas

    The loss of the Nevada U.S. Bank branch will bring the overall total number of locations to only three in the sate, none of which are in Las Vegas.

    13. Ohio

    • 1350 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland
    • 38 North Broadway Street, Farmersville
    • 64 North Main Street, Cedarville

    • 85 West Main Street, Shelby

    Ohio saw another U.S. Bank branch close last year, along with several other bank branch closings, including Huntington National Bank and Fifth Third Bank.

    14. Oregon

    • 518 North First Street, Lakeview
    • 619 Southeast Main Street, Roseburg
    • 206 South Bridge, Sheridan
    • 610 East Broadway Street, Milton-Freewater
    • 4920 Northeast Forty-Second Avenue, Portland
    • 129 North Canyon Boulevard, John Day
    • Evergreen Shopping Center Highway 30, Clatskanie

    Oregon was hit the hardest by news of U.S. Bank closing branches, with seven branches on the chopping block this year.

    15. Texas

    • 8000 Research Forest, The Woodlands

    The closure of the Research Forest branch in The Woodland marks the disappearance of the only U.S. Bank location in the entire state of Texas.

    16. Washington

    • 800 South Columbia Avenue, Connell
    • 4040 Meridian Street, Bellingham

    Washington will still have 120 U.S. Bank locations after the closing in Connell, but the closest U.S. Bank location to the shuttered Connell branch will be almost 20 miles away. Fortunately, a number of other branches will remain in Bellingham.

    17. Wisconsin

    • 311 West Grand Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids
    • 24049 State Road 35, Siren
    • 450 E Main Street,Wautoma

    The West Grand Avenue location in Wisconsin Rapids is expected to close in May, but the city will keep its other location open for customers.

    18. Wyoming

    • 285 Uinta Drive, Green River
    • 215 North Broadway, Riverton
    • 100 South 15Th Street, Worland

    According to reports, the Green River location of U.S. Bank is expected to close in May. This news comes after Wells Fargo closed its Green River branch in 2020.

    Bottom line

    It can be tough if the local branch of your bank closes, especially if other branches aren’t near your location.

    There are still ways to check up on your financial health , such as using a bank’s app to deposit checks or review your deposits.
