Decomposed body found floating in Joliet pump house, police say
A decomposed body was found in a south suburban pump house on Tuesday, according to police.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watchA group of three men and a woman were "exploring" the US Steel property at 941 Collins Street around 6:47 p.m.They entered the pump house and found a body floating in four to five feet of water, Joliet police said.The group immediately called 911.Joliet Fire officials removed the body of a man, which was "in an advanced stage of decomposition."The man's identity and cause of death have not been released.Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Shooting Investigation on the West Side
Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Street, just after 9:30 on Monday morning, for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers located numerous spent shell casings in the roadway. Following a preliminary investigation of this shooting, it is believed that two male suspects standing near a vehicle in front of 366 North Broadway Street traded gunfire with a male suspect that was standing near North Broadway Street and Spring Street. The suspects ran from the area following the shooting. Officers were unable to locate any shooting victims, however two uninvolved vehicles were struck by gunfire. Officers located over 20 spent shell casings while conducting an extensive canvas of the area.

Streator Woman Accused of Possessing Firearm & Meth
The Grundy County Proactive Unit arrested two individuals after a traffic stop in the 200 block of Earl Street in Morris on June 27th. Shelby Newell, 31, of Streator was charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and the Unlawful Possession of meth, both class three felonies and two counts of the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, both class four felonies.
Yorkville man charged with leaving accident scene on foot
The Oswego Police Department arrested a Yorkville man and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident on Sunday evening. Police allege that 52-year-old Robert K. Hefner ran a red light at Douglas and Fernwood roads and struck another vehicle that was turning. Hefner then reportedly fled the crash on foot but was located in a nearby parking lot.
One hurt in motorized skateboard crash Saturday night in Oswego
The Oswego Police Department says one person was hurt when he crashed into a BMW while riding a motorized skateboard Saturday in the area of Douglas and Longbeach roads. Authorities say 34-year-old James Holod, of Montgomery, was heading north on Douglas Road on a motorized skateboard when he hit a BMW driven by a 53-year-old Oswego man who was heading south on Douglas Road and turning onto Longbeach Road.
