MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — Friendly competition is soaring to new heights through the Minot Air Force Base’s Inaugural Mission Generation Competition, which took place on July 17th.

The competition is a high-intensity event designed to help with team-building and provide training.

During the competitions, teams from the 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 5th Munitions Squadron, and 23rd and 69th Bomb Squadrons all showcased their proficiency in a way that was swift and effective, helping them prepare for worldwide deterrence.

During the event, they were evaluated based on dress and appearance, consolidated tool kits, a written test, aircraft generation, bomb build, and weapons load.

Airman 1st Class Lein Figueroa reflected on the importance of the competition, saying, “Having to compete against someone else while maintaining our regular safety measures and doing so at a faster pace added some pressure on us. It definitely helped us grow and learn things that we didn’t know or spot things we weren’t used to seeing.”
