MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — Minot police this afternoon say they have located a body believed to be that of a person missing since April. And they suspect murder in the case.

Police executed a search warrant in the missing person investigation at about 10:30 a.m., July 2, in southeast Minot.

While executing the search warrant, a body was discovered in the basement of the building being searched.

Investigators believe the body is that of the missing 36-year-old Minot man, who has been gone since the beginning of April.

The body is being taken to Grand Forks for an autopsy and positive identification through the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Minot Police Department is investigating the incident as a murder. The investigation is ongoing.
