MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — Minot Public School officials are assuring the public Minot North High School will be open and ready when the school year starts in August.

The high school was vandalized on the night of July 9, although details at this point remain sketchy.

The Superintendent of Minot Public Schools, Scott Faul, said in a statement that, “Minot Public Schools is actively collaborating with the Minot Police Department in investigating this incident. We are currently in the process of assessing the damages.”

Faul says one thing is clear: “Despite this unfortunate event, we want to assure our community that the start of the school year will not be impacted. Minot North will be ready to welcome staff and students in August as scheduled.”

“It looked like a lot of scribble and a lot of signs and such there wasn’t words or things like that,” Faul said.

It’s unclear if any of the vandals were captured on surveillance on the property.
