MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — Thousands of flights were either delayed or canceled Friday, due to a tech outage, leaving more than 25,000 passengers stranded in airports, in and outside of the U.S.

This impacted the Lil’ Wayne concert that was scheduled for Saturday, July 20, at the North Dakota State Fair .

Lil’ Wayne’s concert is now rescheduled for Wednesday, July 24. This means the Sawyer Brown concert, originally scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, July 24, is now set to happen in the afternoon on the same day.

Doors to the Grandstand will open at 1 p.m., with Sawyer Brown set to take the stage at 2 p.m.

The Grandstand will then close after that concert, be cleaned and restocked before the doors reopen for the Lil Wayne concert at 6:30 p.m. that same evening.

Fair leaders say they are working closely with both teams to ensure the shows go on.

“Lil Wayne was in the U.S. As I understand it, the biggest part of his band were in Australia and waiting on flights for a number of days to try to get back here,” explained the General Manager of the North Dakota State Fair, Craig Rudland. “But it sounds like they either made it back now, or they had a flight scheduled. So, the concert is on for Wednesday night.”

Now that the concert is rescheduled, Rudland says he understands if some people may not be able to make it. So, if that’s the case, he says starting on Thursday, July 25, people can go online to the State Fair website, where they can request a refund . Unscanned tickets will be refunded to the credit card they were bought from.

However, fair staff said they are thankful both Sawyer Brown and Lil’ Wayne’s teams are able to still make both concerts happen, instead of canceling.

“Most important to me, we were able to work with these companies and get this rescheduled, said Rudland. “It wasn’t Lil Wayne’s fault, it wasn’t Sawyer Brown’s fault, it wasn’t the State Fair’s fault. That’s just life, right? It just happens, and we are just glad we were able to get it rescheduled. Does it work for everybody? Maybe not. but it was important to us to be able to get it rescheduled and we met our goal in getting that done.”

Lil’ Wayne is set to take the stage around 8 p.m.
