Fort Walton Beach ER doctor warns of fireworks dangers ahead of July Fourth celebrations
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. -- People are preparing to celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks, but lighting them or using sparklers can be dangerous. Kevin Bryan is an Emergency Room Physician at HCA Florida Fort Walton Destin Hospital. He says roughly 10,000 people are hurt by fireworks each year.

Bridge-to-bridge path set for Okaloosa Island: Groundbreaking is July 8
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla.—Okaloosa County is set to break ground on a bridge-to-bridge multi-use path on Okaloosa Island. According to the Board of County Commissioners, the multi-use path will stretch about four miles between the Brooks Bridge and Marler (Destin) Bridge. The path is expected to be open to the public in early 2025.
