Village Creek Days brings beach fun to Chester
The third year of Village Creek Days brought live music, a drum line and a parade back to Chester for a fun-filled three-day event. This year, which had the Some Beach theme, began with a golf tournament, supper and music on July 26. Saturday started off with a parade, followed by a craft and vendor fair for the adults with a dunk tank and inflatables for the kids. Competitions like a bean bag tournament and a tug of war happened earlier in the afternoon, as did a kids' pedal pull. A live band performed in the evening, which ended with fireworks. Sunday kicked off with a fireman's breakfast and car show, with church at the United Methodist Church afterward. A beach volleyball competition brought more beach spirit, with bingo, a raffle drawing and food to wrap up the event.
