Roe Avenue Road Closures August 5 – 11
Beginning Monday, August 5, the City of Mission will begin stormwater pipe replacement that will cause the closure of Roe Avenue from Johnson Drive to 59th Terrace. This work will be completed by August 11th and is part of the larger Roe Ave Pavement Rehabilitation Project from Johnson Dr to 63rd Street. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes during the construction period. Southbound traffic will need to utilize Johnson Dr and northbound traffic will need to utilize 60th Street to avoid the closure. Please see the traffic control map for additional details.
Fairway family displaced after storm knocks tree onto home
FAIRWAY, Kan. (KCTV 5) - A family in Fairway, KS says they are ok after a storm blew through their area and caused a massive tree to come crashing down on their home Thursday. Estimated winds around the time the tree fell were between 50 and 60 mph. The family will be looking to live elsewhere while the tree is removed and the damage to their home is repaired.
