Division of Alcorn county EMA rescues horse from frozen pond

A Division of the Alcorn county EMA rescued a horse from a frozen pond on Sunday, January 21st.

The deed was carried out by thge Alcorn County Special Operations unit.

According to the ACSO, at approximately 3:14 pm Rienzi and Jacinto Fire Departments were called to the scene of a horse stuck in the pond.

Special Operations members were also dispatched to the scene.

The Special Operations members along with local fire departments were able to rescue the horse from the pond and transport him to the owners garage.

The animal is back at home but fighting to return to a normal body temperature.
