    Alabama high school football player dies after suffering head injury during game

    Caden Tellier, the quarterback for Morgan Academy near Selma, Alabama has died Saturday after recieving a brain injury on Friday night. The tragedy happened while Morgan Academy was playing Southern Academy in Morgan's home opener on Friday night during the third quarter. Caden was then airlifted to a Birmingham.

    Arsella Slagel Tellier and Jamie Tellier, the parents of Caden, announced his death on their Facebook pages on Saturday evening.

    Our boy, Caden Tellier has met Jesus face to face. We appreciate all of your prayers and we covet them for the hard days ahead," the post says. “Everyone who knows Caden has known kindness, generosity and love, and true to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time. Lives have been touched by the way he lived and now lives will be saved through his passing. We will walk out these next few days alongside him in his earthly body knowing that his spirit is rejoicing in heaven.

    They also said that arrangements for a service will be made soon.

    According to Michael McLendon, who is the director for the Alabama Independent Schools Association, Morgan Academy is “suspending” all school activities in the coming week.

    There had been confusion earlier on Saturday about his condition. McLendon had posted on the Alabama Independent Schools Association Facebook page that Caden had died, however, that post was taken down and a new post was made that said he was in critical condition with a brain injury.
