Woman Loses Her Job Working With A Congressman After Saying She Wished Trump Shooter Had Better Aim

Congressman Bennie Thompson has terminated Jacqueline Marsaw, a case manager and field director, for posting controversial statements on social media following an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

The shooting incident that left the former president injured occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Thompson, who represents Mississippi’s 2nd congressional district, confirmed Marsaw’s dismissal after her Facebook posts attracted significant backlash.

In a now-deleted post, Marsaw commented:

“I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking.”

Other inflammatory messages were also posted but have since been removed.

Despite the termination, Thompson did not explicitly condemn Marsaw’s rhetoric.

He stated:

“I was made aware of a post made by a staff member and she is no longer in my employment.”

The Mississippi GOP had earlier called for Marsaw’s firing, highlighting the inappropriate nature of her comments. The controversial posts came in the wake of the failed assassination attempt on Trump, who was attacked during a rally.

The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was killed by a Secret Service counter-sniper after opening fire.

Thompson, a long-time political adversary of Trump, faced additional scrutiny for his April legislation aimed at stripping Trump of Secret Service protection, a proposal introduced before Trump was found guilty of falsifying business records related to hush money payments during the 2016 election.

As chairman of the House committee investigating Trump’s alleged involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, Thompson has consistently held Trump accountable for the events of that day.
