2025 four-star safety Kade Phillips is ready for his big decision

Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Hightower safety Kade Phillips is ready. After over a year of going through his recruitment, he’s ready to call one place home.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound four-star holds numerous offers including Texas, Michigan, LSU, Oregon, Stanford, Ole Miss, Cal, and now he’s set to tell the world where he’ll be spending the next few years.

“I’ll be announcing on July 6th,” Phillips told Inside Texas. “I picked a place that feels the most like home.”

What are the most important factors that ultimately went into Phillips’ decision?

“Somewhere I can get developed not just on the field, but off the field as far as spiritually, mentally, and, of course, physically,” said Phillips.

The hard-hitting safety has been a major priority for Steve Sarkisian and Blake Gideon , and the Texas Longhorns have put themselves in the best possible position.

The Houston area product took official visits to Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, and Baylor.

Phillips is ranked as the No. 191 overall prospect, the No. 16 safety, and the No. 31 player in Texas in the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

On3 ranks Phillips higher than any other service. On3 has him as the No. 105 overall prospect, the No. 12 safety, and the No. 21 player in Texas.
