    5 Things to Do This Weekend: July 5-7

    MOBILE, Ala. ( Gulf Coast CW ) — The Fourth of July may have passed, but that doesn’t mean events to celebrate the day have to be over! We’ve got some Independence Day events and even an event to tribute Prince in this weekend’s 5 Things to Do This Weekend.

    Here’s 5 Things to Do This Weekend for July 5-7, 2024.

    S.A.F.E. program helping Florida law enforcement battle illegal fentanyl activity

    1- Break out your best red, white and blue attire for the Flora-Bama’s Annual Freedom Run. It will take place on Saturday, July 6 rain or shine! This patriotic run will feature two courses: The 4-Mile Run/Walk Course or the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk! It all starts at 8 in the morning at you guessed it — Flora-Bama. Visit Flora-Bama’s website for more information including registration prices!

    2- OWA is celebrating Independence Day Thursday through Saturday with their 4th of July Weekend Party full of family-friendly activities. It will include things like a dive-in movie night, live music, photo ops with Uncle Sam, a hot dog eating contest and of course a firework show to wrap up all of the festivities! The fireworks show will be on Saturday beginning at 8:50 p.m.! Visit OWA’s website for a list of the events as well as admission prices!

    3- Over in Northwest Florida there are more Independence Day festivities you can swing by O’Riley’s Irish Pub Downtown and enjoy a delightful park-side brunch while you relax and soak up the sun! Settle in to watch fireworks near the southern edge of Palafox and grab some July 4th-themed drink specials. O’Riley’s Uptown Tavern will also be having 4th of July weekend festivities. Those festivities will be going on through Sunday.

    ‘Dive-In Movie’ tonight at Dotch Community Center: Mobile Parks and Recreation

    4- Also in Pensacola, for those 21 and older you can get in on the “Red, White and Blonde” Legally Blonde-themed Bar Crawl. It’s happening on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Perfect Plain Brewing Company downtown. Tickets are available at the door and will include a donation to HONOR Her, which is a nonprofit organization committed to providing meals, lodging and access to medical care for women veterans who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. There will also be a costume contest at 8 at the Garden and Grain.
