4 arrested on drug charges after police chase: Mobile PD

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Mobile police have arrested four people after allegedly finding drugs in a vehicle following a car chase, News 5 has learned.

An MPD news release said that officers arrested Richard Lebarrion Blackman, 22; Rasheed Lamonte Blackman, 20; Demond Jarrell Pettway, 23; and Dymond Elizabeth Simmons-Settles, 22, at around 12:36 a.m. on Saturday, July 20.

Officers reportedly attempted to stop the vehicle near Broad and Kentucky Streets, but the release said the driver refused to stop until the car eventually stalled out near Gayle and Kentucky Streets.

According to police, they found drugs in the vehicle.

Four people were arrested on the following charges, according to the jail log:

• Richard Blackman: Attempt to elude, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance

• Rasheed Blackman: Possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree possession of marijuana

• Demond Pettway: First-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, attempt to elude, and use/possession of drug paraphernalia

• Dymond Simmons-Settles: Possession of a controlled substance
