    Storm sewer pipe replacement project starts Monday along Government Boulevard

    MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Drivers on Government Boulevard will experience changes during an upcoming construction project.

    According to an Alabama Department of Transportation press release, the “vital storm sewer pipe replacement project” will start on Monday, July 29, along Government Boulevard (U.S. 90), between Eslava Creek and Pinehill Drive.

    Officials said the project is set to last between one to two weeks.

    During the construction project, the following traffic management measures will happen:

    • Eastbound Government Blvd. will experience multiple lane closures
    • One lane of eastbound traffic will remain open throughout the project duration
    • Eastbound traffic will be shifted into the center turn lane
    • Both westbound lanes will remain fully open to traffic
    • Access to businesses will be maintained but limited to specified driveways
