The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a voluntary way of sharing that you have a disability or condition. It informs others that it might not be apparent, but you may need a helping hand, patiences, or more.

Not all disabilities and conditions are visible. Many have conditions that might not be apparent to others. Whether it be temporary, situational, or permanent. For instance, maybe someone has a hearing condition, recovering from surgeries, illness, cognitive, arthritis, pain, etc. The list goes on.

Not everyone wants to reveal to the world that they have a disability or condition. But they do need help or understanding. List of hidden disabilities and conditions.

    Denver International Airport particpants

While at the Denver International Aiport (DIA), travelers, travel care companions, and care partners wearing the lanyard/card can discreetly signals that they or a member in their group have an invisible disability and may need additional support.

The staff wearing the sunflower button signals that the staff member has received training in the program. If you do not have a Sunflower Lanyard. DIA has made them avaiable for travelers, travel care companions, and care partners. Just apporach any of their volunteers in a purple vest and black hat or at one of their customer service infomation booths. If you need assistance, speak to a customer service agent at any of the information booths, marked with a sunflower decal. See more on the DIA Accessibility Website
