Suspect with bag of drugs arrested after jumping into Colorado River
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A suspect was arrested after jumping into the Colorado River with a bag of drugs in an effort to evade law enforcement last week, according to police. Drug enforcement detectives were investigating Thomas Raymond Morgan, 35, and Ashley Fay Nail, 33, for illegal drug sales in the tri-state area, Bullhead City Police said in a post to Facebook.
Van Nuys Man Arrested for Felony DUI Boating After Collision on Colorado River
In a report from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, a 23-year-old Van Nuys resident, Juan Chavez Mendez was arrested for felony reckless boating under the influence following a collision on the Colorado River. According to the official statement, the incident occurred near the 800 Block of Beach Drive in Needles, CA, on the evening of June 29, 2024. Deputies from the Colorado River Station Marine Enforcement Unit responded to the situation at approximately 7:30 p.m. after receiving a report about the boat accident.

On a late afternoon in Needles, a routine traffic check by the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department took an unexpected turn when it led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and a subsequent arrest. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, at around 4:54 p.m. on June 30, deputies pulled over a suspect near J Street and 3rd Street.
Bullhead City Fire Department imposes open fire ban within city limits
BULLHEAD CITY — The Bullhead City Fire District has implemented an open fire ban in response to continued elevated fire risks in the area. The fire district, which covers all of incorporated Bullhead City, stopped short of banning the use of legal fireworks during the current Independence Day holiday period. The use of legal consumer fireworks is permitted under Arizona law between June 24 and July 6; aerial fireworks and most pyrotechnics that explode, either on the ground or in the air, are not legal to discharge in Arizona without a special use permit.
