    Molalla keeps the music playing at Fox Park

    MOLALLA: Tuesday evening air will be filled with the sound of music coming from Molalla’s Fox Park in 2024.

    The Molalla Public Library returns with another edition of its Music in the Park program for the coming summer. The action runs every Tuesday through July 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

    The Friends of the Molalla Library will be selling beverages and Parks CPC will sell snacks.

    This summer’s shows will include:

    July 23 – Mark Seymour & Friends.

    July 30 – Portland Opera’s Opera ala Cart.

    Tuesday night music series continues to bring the tunes

    WOODBURN: Music in the Park returns every Tuesday through Aug. 13. The action runs 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Woodburn Public Library, 280 Garfield St.

    There will be activities for children, as well as food vendors to enjoy

    This summer’s schedule includes:

    July 23 – Big Plans (blues/American roots)

    July 30 – Pheonix (folk pop)

    Aug. 6 – Castletown (Celtic)

    Aug. 13 – Schwing (‘90s covers)

    Aurora comes alive with its weekly community concerts

    AURORA: Aurora’s annual free community concerts will run Wednesday through Aug. 10, which will be held Saturday as part of Aurora Colony Days.

    The shows are held at the Aurora City Park amphitheater from 7 to 9 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public rain or shine. Food and beverage vendors will be on hand.

    Here’s the lineup:

    July 24 – 21 Turns.

    July 31 – Bootleg Ridge.

    Aug. 10 – Slicker Country Band (Saturday).

    Molalla Parks plans fundraising garage sale for play structure

    MOLALLA: The Molalla Parks CPC garage sale will be held July 25-27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 321 Chinook St. The group is now accepting gently used donations. To do so, contact Jody Newland at jnweland@cityofmolalla.com.

    Proceeds will go to replacing a play structure at Fox Park.

    Awesome Possum Party Band ready to rock at Fox Park

    MOLALLA: The Molalla Public Library will hold a fun outing on Thursday, July 25, beginning at 11 a.m. in Fox Park. The Awesome Possum Party Band will be on hand for a little rock out session.

    Canby High class of 2004 ready to assemble

    CANBY: The Canby High School class of 2004 is planning its 20th class reunion with a “save the date” announcement for the Saturday, July 27, event at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm.

    The reunion will be held from 4 to 8 p.m.

    Brewfest event slated for Wilsonville on July 27

    WILSONVILLE: The Wilsonville Brewfest will be held Saturday, July 27, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Piazza Villabois, 28900 SW Villabois Drive.

    The event will benefit the Fun Eye Fund and feature a variety of beverages, food vendors and live music.

    Annual steam-up ready for two-weekend run in Brooks

    BROOKS: The Great Oregon Steam-up will be Saturday and Sunday, July 27-28 and Aug. 3-4, at Powerland Heritage Park in Brooks.

    See the thrill of history in motion with steam tractor engines, tractors, trucks, fire engines and cars. There will be 1/8 scale train rides, trolley rides, live demonstrations and more.

    Canby ready to serve up ‘Slice’ of musical fun

    CANBY: This year’s Slice of Summer music series continues its Sunday shows at the gazebo in Canby’s Wait Park. The shows will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a diverse selection of music.

    Performing this year will be:

    July 28 – Elia Howard & the Greater Good.

    Aug. 11 – Bridgetown Get Down.

    Aug. 25 – The Band of Jesse James.

    Food and beverage vendors will be on hand. Attendees should bring their own chairs or a blanket as there is no seating in the park.

    Canby Fire slates its first-ever MDA golf tourney

    CANBY: The inaugural Canby Fire MDA Golf Tournament will be held Wednesday, July 31, at Frontier Golf Course in Canby.

    Entry to the nine-hole scramble is $100 per person or $350 for a team of four. Fees include greens fees, event t-shirt and catered barbecue lunch. Deadline to enter is June 30. Pick up an entry form or information on sponsorships at the chamber office.

    Pickathon festival returns for indie music lovers

    HAPPY VALLEY: The popular indie music festival Pickathon, which takes place at the Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, will be held Aug. 1-4. Among the standout acts are Courtney Barnett (headliner, Australian indie rock icon), Bonnie “Prince” Billy (headliner, country rock mainstay), Durand Jones (headliner, soul revivalist), Elephant Revival (headliner, folk group), Vacations (headliner, “Australia’s greatest boy band”), Cocorosie, Adi Oasis, Vincent Neil Emerson, Geese, The Soul Rebels, Jess Williamson, Chance Peña, Joanna Sternberg, and many more.

    Colony Days serving up two days of fun

    AURORA: Aurora Colony Days returns Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9-10. Aug. 9 will feature a biergarten from 4:30 to 10 p.m. with the music of Mark Seymour and Friends, beginning at 6 p.m.

    On Saturday, a pancake breakfast kicks things off at the American Legion Hall, followed by a fun run, the Market in the Park and the Outdoor Antiques Market downtown.

    Clackamas County Fair back for another run in Canby

    CANBY: The Clackamas County Fair will run Aug. 13-17 at the fairgrounds in Canby. As always, the Canby Rodeo will be part of the action.

    The fair will feature music, art, food, entertainment, animals and plenty of unique and exciting things to see and do.

    Fiesta Mexicana ready for 60th anniversary outing

    WOODBURN: It’s the 60th anniversary of the Woodburn Fiesta Mexicana, from noon to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, at Legion Park, 1385 Park Ave., Woodburn.

    The event features more than 60 vendors, a soccer tournament, a parade, Lucha Libre, Loteria, live music and a tremendous amount of authentic cuisine options.

    It’s free all-day Friday, free Saturday and Sunday until 5 p.m., and after 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, it’s a $5 entry fee for ages 10 and older. Saturday features a morning parade from downtown through Legion Park.

    Throw-back music and classic car show set for Colton

    COLTON: The annual Summer Finally Got Here concert and classic car show will be held Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Aspen Meadow Amphitheater, 24323 S. Upper Highland Road in Colton.

    WOODBURN: The Woodburn Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at OGA Golf Course.     Celebrate Molalla getting ready at new location

    MOLALLA: This year’s Celebrate Molalla will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a new location – Clark Park, 729 Shirley St.

    There will be free kids crafts and activities, artists, artisans, antiques, a food court, multiple types of beverages, music and more.

    Additionally, the Parks CPC will be selling its newly-designed t-shirts and sweatshirts.

    Canby High class of 1974 organizing a 50th class reunion

    CANBY: The Canby High School class of 1974 is in the process of planning its 50th class reunion on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Merrywood Farms in Carus.

    Teresa (McNamee) Meyers is organizing the event and is looking for help and to connect with classmates from 1974.

    D&D campaign looking for players at Canby Library

    CANBY: A Dungeons and Dragons campaign for teens ages 13-18 will be the first and third Saturday at the Canby Public Library.

    Portland Timbers supporters group meets in Canby

    CANBY: The local Portland Timbers support group, Timbers Army Clackamas County Frogmen, will meet at the F.O.B. Taproom in Canby cheer on the MLS team for every game this season, except those on Wednesday nights.

    The game will be shown on a large pull-down screen and the fun will include snacks and patches and stickers for sale. Beverages are available on site, and food can be purchased outside of the taproom and brought in during the game. All area Timbers fans are encouraged to stop by.

    CANBY: The Canby Farmers Market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Canby on N. Holly Street between NW 2nd and 4th avenues.

    WOODBURN: The Northwest Senior and Disability Services is accepting volunteers for its Woodburn-based Meals on Wheels program.

    Volunteers serve nutritious food to the community’s older citizens. It’s an opportunity to help the community, connect with others and be a friendly, familiar face.
