Crews respond to fire at Moline salon
MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - The Moline Fire Department responded to a fire at a business on Monday. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Crews said they responded to 3915 16th Street, Serenity Salon and Day Spa. The first arriving fire company arrived within five minutes and reported a small one-story commercial building with light smoke coming from inside.
Davenport fire suspect spat on firefighter, officials say
An 18-year-old Davenport man was in custody Tuesday after police say he is a suspect in an arson, according to a news release. Shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Davenport Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Grand Court for a structure fire. Crews responded with three engines, two ladder trucks, and a district chief, for an initial response of 16 personnel.
Postmaster arrested for stealing hundreds of greeting cards, money inside
QUAD CITIES, Ill./Iowa (KWQC) - Police said the Moline postmaster stole mail he believed were greeting cards that contained cash or gift cards. Justin Brown was arrested June 28 after Davenport Police searched his home and found 487 cards greetings cards for weddings, birthdays, graduations and Father’s Day, according to arrest affidavits.

Beaver Dam man killed in car vs. semi crash in Dodge Co.
JUNEAU, Wis. (WMTV) - A 25-year-old man from Beaver Dam was killed in a crash Tuesday morning involving a semi and the car he was driving. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office shares in a post to Facebook that they responded to the crash just before 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway A/I and County Highway W in the town of Oak Grove. This is about two and a half miles west from the city of Juneau.
Former Davenport farmers market director sentenced to probation
The former executive director of the Freight House Farmers Market has been ordered to serve three years of probation, according to court documents. Lorraine Beaman, 61, of Long Grove, pleaded guilty to second-degree theft, a Class D felony, court records say. She was placed on probation for a period of three years unless sooner released by the court.
