Moline Parks & Rec hosting annual Youth Fishing Challenge

Kids can spend time outside learning how to fish at a park pond in Moline next month.

Moline Parks and Recreation is holding its annual Youth Fishing Challenge at Riverside Park Pond on Saturday, August 10 from 9 – 10 a.m. The park is on Fifth Avenue in Moline, between 31 ^st and 34 ^th Streets. Participants must bring their own poles and bait. Fish will be caught and released.

Kids ages 5-12 can spend time away from screens leaning the basics of fishing. All the anglers will fish at the same time but will be divided into age groups of 5-8 and 9-12.

Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish by weight and most fish caught by number in each age group. Pre-registration is required and closes on August 2 at 3:30 p.m. Click here to sign up or call the park office at (309) 524-2424.
