Few people ultimately opted out of the $600 million class action settlement Norfolk Southern offered to people affected by last year’s disastrous East Palestine train derailment despite the questions residents raised about the deal, lawyers said. NEW BRIGHTON ― A new program promoted by a country music icon is bringing books to Beaver County children starting in August. Representatives for the Beaver County Department of Human Services and The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Beaver County have announced they will officially launch Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program for children across the region. I-79 Traffic Shift Monday Night in Robinson Township
PennDOT District 11 is announcing a traffic shift on southbound Interstate 79 in Robinson Township, Allegheny County will occur Monday, July 22 weather permitting. The southbound I-79 lanes at the I-376 interchange will be shifted to the left into a new configuration of two 11-foot-wide lanes and a one-foot shoulder. The new traffic pattern will begin once line painting operations conclude and will remain in place continuously through mid-August. The shift will be implemented to accommodate bridge deck overlay work. All interchange ramp access will be maintained.
Lindsay Theater open during park construction
Construction is underway for the new borough park in Sewickley that will be located in front of The Lindsay Theater & Cultural Center. The work is being done by Pittsburgh-based Vermont Stone & Horticulture at a cost of $93,424. The borough owns the land and the lawn that the theater sits on, but not the theater.
