Genealogical Society to meet Monday
The Eagle River Genealogical Society will be meeting Monday, Aug. 5 at the Walter E. Olson Memorial Library in Eagle River from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the community room. The first hour is business, and the second hour is programming. This month will be the start of a three-month course learning all about Ancestry.com. Absolutely no experience is needed and no Ancestry account is needed to come learn with the group. It is recommended to bring a laptop or tablet from home. If unable to bring either device, one can be provided during the meeting by the group or the library.
Wisconsin’s Forward Bank opens St. Germain branch
Marshfield, Wis.-based Forward Bank recently opened a branch in St. Germain as part of its expansion in the northwoods area of the state. The bank announced the plan last year. The branch, at 474 Wisconsin Hwy. 70, opened July 24 and includes an interactive teller machine to conduct transactions in the lobby and driveup. Enhanced virtual assistants greet customers and work through transactions.
