Monroe, La. ( KTVE/KARD) — The University of Louisiana-Monroe football has undergone a roster revamp in the past few months with plenty of additions and subtractions that will affect the upcoming season. The most important position on the field, the quarterback, has also been a big elephant in the room all offseason with the starting signal caller remaining unnamed thus far, the growth the players have shown during the summer is more of the focus for University of Louisiana-Monroe head coach Bryant Vincent.

“I think that each guys brings a different element. I think that adding General Booty and Reese Mooney to an already really good room has really lifted it up that much more. The intangibles and the leadership and the moxie has really grown. They support each other, they’re all high character, high IQ kids, and they’re all team guys. They’re great teammates, and I think it has made a tremendous impact on where we are going,” said Vincent.

As far as the rest of the team goes, the intensity is about to ramp up with summer workouts soon coming to a close and that’s when the boys will have to turn into men to gear up for their week one matchup against Jackson State.

“Our team has had the now mentality, and the one day at a time mentality. We just come in and they’ve done a great job of embracing winning each day,” said Vincent. “We have three weeks to really make a big dent in our growth and our development before we start camp and that’s when the real fun begins.”
