MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On July 10, 2024, a shooting occurred near the intersection of Breece Cir and S 1st Street. Two males were reportedly shot at during the incident and one was struck in the right thigh.

The two males were driving on Breece Cir when according to the victim, 27-year-old Allen Bolden produced a black handgun with an extended magazine on them and shot at the victims one time.

The bullet penetrated the front passenger door and struck the passenger in the right thigh. As the victims drove off, the suspect shot again and hit the back of the vehicle.

The victims drove to St. Francis to receive medical treatment. On July 11, 2024, officers located Bolden in the 100 block of Magnolia Street where he was apprehended and advised of his Miranda rights.

The Monroe Police Department did a gun shot residue (GSR) lift on Bolden’s hands. The test revealed positive results for GSR.

A criminal background check of Bolden uncovered that he has a prior conviction from 2014 for Simple Robbery. Additionally, in 2023 he was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

Both convictions prohibit Bolden from owning a firearm. Bolden is also listed as an offender on a protective order.

Bolden was taken to the Ouachita Correctional Center and booked for the following charges:

    • Two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder
    • Violation of Protective Order
    • Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instruments
    • Possession of Firearm or Carrying Concealed Weapon by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies

At this time, authorities have not located a firearm.
