    K-9 nabs fleeing Union County fugitive after traffic stop: Police

    MONROE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A fugitive who attempted to flee a traffic stop was caught by a K-9 last week, Monroe authorities announced.

    Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Deangelo Williams, 35, of Monroe, around 5:30 p.m. last Friday near Skywatch Lane.

    Monroe Police said Williams pulled over and then proceeded to run away before being tracked down by K-9 Bolo while trying to hide in the woods off Sinclair Drive.

    Williams was wanted out of South Carolina on motor vehicle breaking and entering charges.
