High School Student from Edison Granted Scholarship for Organ Donation Advocacy
EDISON, NJ - A high school student from Edison Township is one of seven in the state to receive a scholarship for Advocacy and Support of Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation from the NJ Sharing Network. Anika Bhatnagar is a 2024 Middlesex Academy for Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences graduate and the recipient of a scholarship from Missy’s Miracle Scholarship Fund. Vaughn Turner, a rising senior, led Piscataway in scoring with 13 points. The Chiefs went on to defeat Trenton Central High School, 76-43 in their second game of the morning. In early 2020, a search for the perfect place to build the new Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey/Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center led the New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) to 165 Somerset St., home of the overcrowded Lincoln Annex School. In exchange for the property, DEVCO negotiated with the project’s major partner, RWJBarnabasHealth, to commit $55 million to build a new school at nearby 50 Jersey Avenue on land donated by the chair of the RWJ University Hospital board and developer Jack Morris.
New Jersey College Asks Bondholders To Borrow Against Mortgage
Rider University, a small college outside of Trenton, New Jersey, is trying to raise additional funds to help an ongoing liquidity crunch. College officials asked bondholders for permission to borrow against the mortgage on the school’s main campus in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, according to a bond filing dated Friday. If approved, the move would free up much-needed cash for Rider in the short-term.
