Damante Stansberry Sentenced to 18 Years to Life in Prison. Stansberry Previously Pled Guilty to Murder in the Second Degree for Killing a Wallkill Man. Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced that on Friday, July 19, 2024, Damante Stansberry, age 24, of Wallkill, was sentenced to eighteen (18) years to life in prison after previously pleading guilty to Murder in the Second Degree in the Orange County Court. At sentencing, the People recommended that Stansberry be sentenced to twenty (20) years to life in prison for his role in the homicide.
2 people charged in Middletown narcotics; firearms bust
Two people are facing charges following a narcotics and firearms bust in the City of Middletown that police say uncovered a cache of items, including a Tec-9 assault weapon, thousands of grams of cocaine and thousands of dollars in ill-gotten proceeds. Police arrested 52-year-old Thedford Browning and 33-year-old Alexandra Feliz-Matos, both of Middletown, on Thursday.

Helen Marie McManus Boyle, 93, of Goshen entered into rest Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Helen Marie was born April 2, 1931 in Kingston, Pa. She is the daughter of the late Thomas B. and the late Helen (Chmielak) McManus. While attending Columbia University for her master’s in nursing, she dated Patrick J. Boyle while he attended Georgetown Law. They married on February 7, 1959, in St Ignatus in Kingston, Pa.

Main Street in Sparta is Reopened
SPARTA, NJ- Main Street a/k/a County Road 517 in Sparta has been reopened according to the Sparta Police Department. Main Street was closed at the intersection of Roamin Way near the Ogdensburg border earlier on Friday. Police report tree limbs and several utility poles are down. According to police JCP&L arrived on the scene at 2 p.m.

Jersey Girl Cheese, named after its herd of Jersey cows — not the famous Tom Waits eponymous tune — displayed some of its delicious gourmet homemade fresh and aged cheese at the Lakeside Farmers Market in Greenwood Lake during a hot and humid Saturday when the temperature reached near 90 and the humidity reminded residents of what the summer temperature is like in south Florida.
Warwick Junior Police Academy holds its first 2024 graduation ceremony
Now in the program’s third year, 11 cadets graduated from the first session of the Town of Warwick Police Department Junior Police Academy in the outdoor theater at Mountain Lake Park on July 26, 2024. (Note: Police released this information on July 24.) Franklin Township Police received a complaint of a male shooting a crossbow in a parking lot in the area of Jacques Lane. Officers responded to the area, contacted the involved party and advised him of the dangers of shooting a crossbow in that area. The male understood the concerns raised and left the scene voluntarily.
